It is Coming!

What a week it has been around the Stine house, but let me first share about the ARC Conference…

Let me start with last week at the ARC Conference.  Can I just say it how it was, “incredible.”  What an incredible group of people to serve alongside in the ministry.  The conference was held in Austin, Tx and we had a great, High Impact, time at Joe and Lori Champion’s church called Celebration Church of Austin.  Their team sure knows how to host an event with excellence.  Over the few days that we were there, we heard from several speakers including: Chris Hodges, Joe Champion, Stovall Weems, etc…  All were high impact on Taryn and I.

We also got a chance to hear from Craig Groeschel from Lifechurch.tv. who delivered an incredible word about churches having “It“.  Which he defined as “a rare combination of the anointing of God, Passion, Creativity, Teamwork, Focus, Faith, Drive, Hunger, desperation, and divine expectations that is manefest in and through you unlike any other church in your area.”

Just think, What if every church found “It“?

I don’t know about you but this really got me to prayin’ for DCMetroChurch and our vision to “Build a God-First Culture in and around the DCMetro Area,” and for It to be in our church.  After thought it is my conviction that the church should, once again, become the cultural influence within a community and the world.  Afterall, we have God’s Creativity, Passion, Focus, (other “It” qualities, Etc…) working on our behalf.  In fact, that is the way it used to be.  The church was the place were creative people found their canvas or their song, or their clay…  You and I can go to any museum today and find the remnants of God immortalized (not that He needed help with that one!) throughout the corridors of history in various forms of culture impacting artwork.  I believe that time is coming again and it is going to take “It” in our churches, to do ”It.”

It is coming, and I am all aboutIt.”

Comments welcome on this thought about ”It

Love you guys!

United or Praise Baby?

United or Praise Baby?

Another Great weekend in Jacksonville…  This past weekend Taryn and I were able to attend our South Campus Location of Celebration Church.  We had a great time participating in their services, as well as hanging out with their Campus Pastors, Darren and Katie Sullivan, who do such a great job at “South”…  It was also great to see another location that is in the earlier stages of their ministry.  Being less than two years old, we were able to get some great ideas for DCMetroChurch

This week we are ramping up a Celebration for Hillsong United who is coming in town tomorrow for a live (sold-out) concert.  It will be great to see them as we have always enjoyed meeting the different teams that come through from Hillsong Church.

These guys have to be the band that Taryn and I listen to the most as their songs are forever playing in our house, vehicles, ipods etc…  We have even got Isaac listening to them now, even though he still prefers his rockin’ “Praise Baby Collection” (www.praisebabycollection.com) over any of our music.  Don’t worry all you United fans, Isaac will come around one day real-soon!

Until then, we will keep on singin’, “Take - Take - Take it all” to him…

Church Planting Intern…

Church Planting Intern...

All is going well with the DC Launch team, Taryn and I have had a productive week in the office with the help of many of our launch team members.  We have had an additional help this past week as one of our EDJ interns (www.edjcollege.com), Justin Cook, has decided to work with us for the next three months in what we have called the Church Planters Track of the EDJ Program. Justin has been in various roles at Celebration, and I can already tell that it will be a great blessing to have him with us for the next three months as he learns about church planting by helping us launch DCMetroChurch.

Hope everyone is having a great week,

Get ready for a great weekend,

D

Easter Recap…

Easter Recap...

Taryn and I had a great trip to DC and a wonderful Easter at Celebration. I hope you all made it to church this weekend. It seemed like everyone in Jacksonville Fl. came to Celebration Church this past weekend. Even though Easter is my favorite weekend of the year, I had no idea that we would be celebrating last Sunday with over 10,000 other people at Church.

It was amazing how it worked out, we knew that we would need more seating, but as each service went by it was as if we had placed just the right amount of chairs out for the amount of people who came. The whole church had been praying to fill all the chairs and I know that God had answered our prayers. God sent just the right amount, any more and we would have had to turn them away…

Every service brought just the right amount and after 16 weekend services at all our locations, we had over 10,000 people come to church and over a thousand receive Christ!

Go God!

I hope your weekend was as exciting…

David

PS ? that is me and Isaac’s Easter Photo (I am the photographer, and what about that rare suit and tie?)

Isaac Nose Bite Part II

Isaac Nose Bite Part II

Isaac has been notorious for biting Taryn and my nose… Here is proof for the second time (yes the second time!) (we have a great shot of Taryn getting her left nostral bit-off!) that he has been caught by camera…

PS - No noses were harmed in the process of obtaining this nontraditional Easter photo…

Off and Running Again…

We left this morning for DC, and although we miss our lil’ super-man Isaac, we are already having a great time on our journey. Where is Isaac you might ask? Isaac decided to house-sit for us while mommy and daddy are out. He was going to come with us, but he was too busy to make it on this trip, but we understood, after-all it is tough playing/eating/napping/playing all day long!

Reality:
Today we met with the General Manager of the movie theater that we are looking at for DCMetroChurch’s launch facility. Incredible! We love it and have great favor with the local management. It is a great theater right in the heart of our target area, with great rooms for adults and most importantly kids! Continue to pray with us as we move forward to lock-in this great facility. Go God!

Thankful:
We have also been very thankful that God is sending us to a place that we love! Look at God! I think so often we feel that if we surrender to the Call of God, that He is going to send us to somewhere terrible just for punishment, ouch! Well not true here, DC is the bomb! We are off and running again, we’ll catch up later…

Continue to pray for us,

D & T

Psalms 118:24

PS Disclaimer - Don’t worry, Isaac is not house-sitting alone, he has lots of stuffed animals!

Ministry w/ My Girl

Ministry w/ My Girl

I spoke at LateNite this evening on “A Few Things I Have Learned…” It was great to get to be in there with the most fired up crew in Jacksonville.

I had a great time as I preached on a few things that I want to impart in my son, and some things that our Father God wants to impart into us as well. If you missed the service be sure and check-out the podcast to get a little bit of LateNite on your itunes. Taryn was ministering with me this evening also, she shared a great scripture during prayer time (Moment: There are not many things better than doing ministry together with her) Thank God for a wife that is fired-up for God!!! ~(Love You T!)~I hope you all had a great night!Bless You, David

Three and One

Three and One

I love the fact that I have two great reasons to take a new family photo each year. They include my wonderful wife Taryn and my handsome son Isaac. I hope you enjoy this photo as much as me. It seems just yesterday that Taryn and I were just meeting for the first time. Now some 9 years later we are one (Married) and now we are three (with Isaac) and one.

Hope you guys are having a great week,

The Stines

Sold It!

Sold It!

Well,

God is really lining things up for our move to DC… I will give just a few brief quick miracles that are going on right now.

Here they go:

o The Website is up and running. Although it does not have all the content or the bells and whistles running yet, at least you can see the “look” that it is going to have as well as a three step system (bottom of page) that visitors can quickly find out what to do when they come to “Metro”. So Be sure and check out the new look at DCMetroChurch.org.

o This is a BIG ONE, Ready… We Sold Our House… Yes that is right, sold it! 21 days on the market and it is sold. In today’s market we have just been overly excited at the fact that God has made this happen for us… Thank You God!

o With that said, we could be moving to DC sooner than later… More to come on that soon. Please Pray…

Isaac’s New Game…

Isaac's New Game...

I have started this game with my son Isaac, let me rephrase that… Isaac has started this game with me. Here’s how it goes… He picks up a toy and throws it down on the ground, I then proceed to pick up the toy and give it back to him, he then takes the toy and throws it down on the ground, I then pick up the toy and give it back to him, where he then takes the toy and throws it down on the ground, etc. This process continues for about the next ten minutes until we are both worn out…

This reminded me of our relationship with God from time to time. He gives us an opportunity that we practically beg him for (i.e. , we then take that great opportunity and we begin to throw it down (talk bad about it, or be unthankful for it), He being the good God that He is, (also knowing what is best for us) then picks the opportunity up again and (At this point we are usually even less dignified that my 9 month old, (usually after we are kicking and screaming)) he gives it back to us. Of course, then we throw the opportunity back down again, etc. and the cycle continues.

The big difference is that God never gets tired of picking up our mess and for lifting us up out of it!

Be thankful for where you are TODAY!

Bless You,

David
