BIG WEEKEND!

BIG WEEKEND!

Well there is alot to cover in this short blog post – but here goes…

THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT WEEKEND FOR DC & DC METRO CHURCH!

30 Days To Live:

This weekend we will have part three of the 30 Days To Live Series where once again we will gain fresh perspective from God’s Word about a specific area that is sure to ignite our passion for Jesus all the more… With so many people coming into town this weekend for the inauguration – lets make an extra push to invite individuals to experience what God is doing at DC Metro again this Sunday!

Signs Team:

Speaking about inviting people to church on Sunday, be sure and say a prayer for the Signs Team. These guys work so hard to “usher” people from all over the metro area into the House of God… God use them mightily this weekend…

Awakening Fast – 21 Days Of Prayer And Fasting –

We are in Day 6 of our 21 Days of prayer and fasting and I could not be more proud of all of you for your committment to Jesus during this fast. I have already heard so many stories of God doing incredible things through this fast – but please continue to let me know as I am praying for big testimonies all month. One of the great things is that because of this fast – we will hear testimonies in DC Metro Church – ALL YEAR! GO GOD!

Also – if you have gotten discouraged about your fast… (very normal)

Remember 2 Things:

1. There is no such thing as the “Fasting Police” (In other words, if you have a moment of weakness it does not count against you! Simply modify your fast and jump back in…) (also – no one is trying to catch you giving in – Thank God!)
2. Remember that the Reward Is ETERNAL! Even if you do not see something happening right now – you are sowing seeds for the future – that you will reap. One of my favorite scriptures regarding this is Galatians 6:8 AMP “What we sow in the Spirit, we will reap in the Spirit.” Man are we going to reap some incredible things this year personally and as a church as we sow this time of fasting and prayer. GO GOD!

In a closing thought,

I am ready to change – and I know that you are too – so lets allow God to get a hold of our hearts like never before and use all of us together for something incredible this year…

So glad I am in this with you,

GO GOD!

David

PS – Can’t Wait To See You SUNDAY!
PSS – Comment below with Testimonies!!! GO GOD!

Awakening – 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Awakening - 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

I am looking forward to our 21 days of prayer and fasting starting January 11th…

I know what you are thinking, you are looking forward to fasting??? No really, I am pumped about it… Not because of the sacrifice that is involved, but because I know what God can do when His people give up things that we like, as a sacrifice, and to say “Although I like this stuff, food, etc.” “Jesus I Love You More!”

This January, you are invited to participate in a season of prayer and fasting; a spiritual journey that will set the tone for our effectiveness throughout the year. We are calling this spiritual campaign:

Awakening: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Many of you have already established times of prayer and fasting in your life and have experienced the powerful impact it has had. As a church, we have seen increased salvations, breakthroughs and miracles as we chose to put God first at the onset of the year. This year, we are uniting with several other churches (over 200!) to pray and fast together, aligning ourselves with the power and favor of God.

Just imagine what can happen if the Body of Christ unites behind this purpose that is so close to the heart of God. What a powerful way to start off our year.

If you have ever had a desire to pray and fast, this is a great way to do it.

Also – On This Blog – I am going to provide daily devotionals and scripture to encourage you through this great journey.

Looking Forward To The Greatest Year Yet,

Pastor D.

New Year – New Read…

Taryn and I are diving into two very great books as we start off the year.

The one that Taryn is reading is Called: Warrior Chic by Holly Wagner.

warrior chic

The one that I am reading is called: The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManis.

Barbarian Way

These two inspiring books represent what we feel to be the best explination yet of what it means to live a God-First Life!

If you want to read with us, we will be diving into the pages of each of them as we journey to the DC Metro 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting from January 11th – 31st. The DC Metro Staff and Dream Team will be reading along as well as we all give our best to God as we kick off the year together with Him.

For your convenience, we will have copies of both books at the “New” Resource Center on Sunday Mornings.

Enjoy these books as we know that they will stir the Warrior, or the Barbarian within…

Go God,

Pastor D.

Great Kick Off To The New Year…

Great Kick Off To The New Year...

It was a great kick off to the New Year at DC Metro this weekend…

The Dream Team did a great job of transitioning the church to two services, I could not be more proud of how God continues to use all of us as a team to make church incredible for others…

It was so good to see many faces in one of the services that have simply been serving during service in the past and could not attend church on a regular basis. These individuals know who they are – and so does God… Thanks so much for serving so sacrificially so that others could enjoy church… It is your turn to go to church now – and it was so good to see many of you “sitting” in service. Bless you guys!

I am looking forward to a great week of saying “I LIVE NOW!” and making the most of every day of this new year (Psalm 118:24). If you did not get a chance to hear the message from our 30 Days to Live Series this past weekend, then you can check it out online by clicking here…

30 Days to Live Part II is this weekend…

Get ready and invite your friends,

Go God!

David

Starting January 4th – 2 SERVICES! – 9:30am & 11:00am

Starting January 4th - 2 SERVICES! - 9:30am & 11:00am

I hope that you are already off to a great New Year as we shake off 2008 and focus in on a fresh start in 2009!

Its about this time of year that “all things become new” and a new openness to change begins to take shape in our lives… With that said, we also have some exciting changes coming for DC Metro Starting This Weekend as we go to 2 Services! Starting this Sunday January 4th, DC Metro will be a church with two service options 9:30am and 11:00am! This is in a response to our need to add more seats and our desire as a church to reach more people, lets join in prayer that God would do something incredible in all of our lives as we enter this new year…

Speaking of doing some thing amazing in our lives… We are starting a bold new series where we will all ask ourselves the same question??? How would my life be different if I only had 30 Days to Live? Over the last several weeks I have been challenged to ask myself the same question and I look forward to the life change that God will bring us each week as we look to Him for the answer… Invite those around you who are looking for New Life in this New Year – and lets all believe God for an incredible kick off this weekend…

30days

In town to help us kick things off as we ramp up for 2 services is a missions team from Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Fl. These fired-up guys and gals have already been a huge blessing to the church as they have been doing ministry all over the Metro Area this entire week… – passing out invitation cards, feeding the homless, and fixing up the church office…

David, Taryn, Isaac, & Siah

Looking Forward To A Great Christmas

Looking Forward To A Great Christmas

The Stine Family is looking forward to a great Christmas with Friends and some Family Members…

We have done all of our shopping this year and I am pleased to say that I am finished with Taryn’s Present. You see, this year, Taryn had this wild idea for us to make gifts for one another instead of spending money on each other. In fact the rule is, that you cannot spend more than $25.00 on the other person. So of course that means that you have to get REAL creative… I was lacking in my creativity for about a week or so, but I think I finally have it figured out… I am sure that she will LOVE it…

We are doing this to get our focus as a couple and a family back on the important things about Christmas – I will let you know how it goes – but so far things have been very MERRY!

If you need to get your focus back on the true meaning of Christmas and maybe even a little BOOST to fully get into The Christmas Spirit then check out the message from our Christmas service last Sunday by clicking here… afterall, IT’S TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!

Wishing a Very Merry Christmas to You and Yours…

Bless You,

David, Taryn, Isaac & Siah Stine

Family Christmas Service This Sunday at 10am

Can you believe it is almost Christmas?

I am particularly fired-up about our Family Christmas Service this Sunday!!!

Here are a few things that I am getting particularly pumped about:

1. We will be worshipping with some classic Christmas tunes that we all know and love…
2. We will get to watch all of our kids do a special christmas singing performance…
3. We will enjoy a God-First Message about the true meaning of Christmas to get us focused on what really matters… (JESUS!)
4. We will celebrate holy communion together as a church family…

Gets me fired-up!

Looking forward to seeing you there…

David

PS – This is also the last week of collecting unwrapped toys at church for our Season of Hope (Kids Helping Kids Outreach to Liberia, Africa). Taryn and I had a hard time getting Isaac and Josiah understand that the gifts they bought were for less fortunate children in a far away country – but it is never too early to start those God First Lessons. “Train a Child Up in The Way that they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”

DC Metro FUN Weekend Coming…

GO GOD – See You Sunday!

God is so Good…

God is so Good...

What a great weekend we had at DC Metro this morning…

Pastor Stovall and Kerri were in town and Stovall gave a powerful and timely word on faith… Especially how to trust God, even when it does not make sense… It should make for a great small group discussion in all of the metro groups this week…

Thank God for the timeliness of God’s Word as He meets us exactly where we are on Sunday Mornings…

Bless You all and check out our podcast it you missed it this morning…

We will be picking back up in our GOD AT THE MOVIES Series as we officially kick-off the Christmas Season next Sunday…

Bless You guys and have a great week…

Pastor D.
