It is that time of year again! Time to get us all excited about getting refocused and ready to jump into a whole new year…
I love this time of year because it always gives us a chance to start fresh and start over in whatever area we need a jumpstart in: work out, personal goals, even our focus on GOD…
We are looking forward this weekend as we celebrate our last Sunday as a church with one service. That’s right starting January 4th we are going to TWO SERVICES! 9:30am and 11:00am…
This Sunday we are celebrating the New Year and on last Sunday as a church with One Service. Here is what is in store for this weekends service: a New Years Message to kick your year off with a BANG! (I will be sharing some exciting vision for us as a church in 2009!) and to top it off we will have a FREE MOVIE following church “The Tale Of Despereaux” (Rated G)
Get ready to say goodby to 2008 and hello to 2009 as we focus on all that God has for us in 2009 this weekend,
Go God!

The Stine Family is looking forward to a great Christmas with Friends and some Family Members…
We have done all of our shopping this year and I am pleased to say that I am finished with Taryn’s Present. You see, this year, Taryn had this wild idea for us to make gifts for one another instead of spending money on each other. In fact the rule is, that you cannot spend more than $25.00 on the other person. So of course that means that you have to get REAL creative… I was lacking in my creativity for about a week or so, but I think I finally have it figured out… I am sure that she will LOVE it…
We are doing this to get our focus as a couple and a family back on the important things about Christmas – I will let you know how it goes – but so far things have been very MERRY!
If you need to get your focus back on the true meaning of Christmas and maybe even a little BOOST to fully get into The Christmas Spirit then check out the message from our Christmas service last Sunday by clicking here… afterall, IT’S TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!
Wishing a Very Merry Christmas to You and Yours…
Bless You,
David, Taryn, Isaac & Siah Stine
Can you believe it is almost Christmas?
I am particularly fired-up about our Family Christmas Service this Sunday!!!
Here are a few things that I am getting particularly pumped about:
1. We will be worshipping with some classic Christmas tunes that we all know and love…
2. We will get to watch all of our kids do a special christmas singing performance…
3. We will enjoy a God-First Message about the true meaning of Christmas to get us focused on what really matters… (JESUS!)
4. We will celebrate holy communion together as a church family…
Gets me fired-up!
Looking forward to seeing you there…
David
PS – This is also the last week of collecting unwrapped toys at church for our Season of Hope (Kids Helping Kids Outreach to Liberia, Africa). Taryn and I had a hard time getting Isaac and Josiah understand that the gifts they bought were for less fortunate children in a far away country – but it is never too early to start those God First Lessons. “Train a Child Up in The Way that they should go and when they are old, they will not depart from it.”
Get ready for a great weekend at DC Metro Church…
We are going to be making a special announcement during service about something exciting for the NEW YEAR!
We are also going to be kicking off the Christmas Season Officially with a GOD AT THE MOVIES (Christmas Edition!)
The movie we will look at this weekend is a Very Famous yet “CLASSIC” Christmas Film… What is it? Well find out tomorrow…
Get ready as we explore a message I have entitled: “The Light of Christmas For Your Dark Days…”
GO GOD – See You Sunday!

Another great weekend at DC Metro Church… We enjoyed a great time with Pastor Stovall who shared a moving message about the difference in having faith “FOR” things as opposed to having faith “IN” things… As followers of Christ our faith is always “IN” Christ even though we believe Him FOR many things – we trust Him alone even when we don’t receive that in which we are trusting Him “FOR”…
Wow – Go God!
Get ready for another great weekend this week as we “officially” kick off the Christmas Season at DC Metro Church by jumping back into our God at the Movies – Holiday Edition…
Until then, have a blessed week,
David

I have been told that I am an “encourager” in the past… Don’t know, maybe that is one thing I have to offer those around me… Gift? Not really sure – just impressed with many of the people who surround Taryn, the boys, and myself – therefore I let them know how it makes me feel – Great – so in return it makes them feel great, Hopefully…
Well this weekend the roles turned as I have felt like everyone around me friends/church/family/GOD has encouarged the heck out of me??? Not that they don’t, but over the top, ya know… This has been one of the best weekends in a long time for me, and looking back, it is because of all of THEM…
So a quick shout out to all those who have been so “encouraging” over the last couple of days to Taryn and Myself – We don’t feel I deserve it – but it sure does feel good (just being real…)… Thank God for you & thanks be to God!
Go God…
David

What a great weekend we had at DC Metro this morning…
Pastor Stovall and Kerri were in town and Stovall gave a powerful and timely word on faith… Especially how to trust God, even when it does not make sense… It should make for a great small group discussion in all of the metro groups this week…
Thank God for the timeliness of God’s Word as He meets us exactly where we are on Sunday Mornings…
Bless You all and check out our podcast it you missed it this morning…
We will be picking back up in our GOD AT THE MOVIES Series as we officially kick-off the Christmas Season next Sunday…
Bless You guys and have a great week…
Pastor D.

Can you believe it is December already?
I am always surprised at how this great month has a way of sneaking up on us before we know it…
With that said, I am looking forward to an incredible time as we have more things happening in December than any other month so far this year… To start receiving our Monthly Newsletter and Events add your email to the enewsletter page by clicking here…
To kick off the month we have our 1st Thursday Service – where we will be sharing communion together as a church family… I will also be sharing from God’s Word about a message I am calling – Coming Home For The Holidays…
Speaking of Coming Home For The Holidays – We have some Great Friends coming in town this weekend… In Fact, my dear friend and one of the Presbyters of DC Metro Church – Pastor Stovall Weems and his awesome wife Kerri will be in-town this weekend, and Taryn and I are so fired-up about it…
Many of you know that Pastor Stovall is not only one of our Presbyters, but he is also MY Pastor (We all need a Pastor!).
He and His Wife Kerri Lead One of the Fastest Growing Churches in the Country, Celebration Church of Jacksonville Florida. They have a national audience through their television ministry, but they always make a point to be with us on this first Sunday in December each year… Go God!
You do not want to miss this action packed weekend, Dec. 7th, as we welcome our dear friends Stovall and Kerri Weems to DC Metro!
See You There…
David
