Weekend of Adventure…

Weekend of Adventure...

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

We truly do have so much to be thankful for… Taryn, Isaac, Siah and I all spent the day with our local family and some peeps from our church family as well… It was good just to kick back and enjoy the day with good friends (who am I kidding, I was chasing two wild children all day!) Ok, so one day I will kick back and enjoy thanksgiving with the boys, right?

We are headed out again tonite to hangout with some other wonderful DC Metroers – Our Children’s Directors – John and Julie Lee – and EAT! (I am lovin that!) Isaac and Siah will be pumped as well as I picked up a dvd of Wall-E that they will have a front row seat to over at the Lee’s…

Not sure what we have in-store for tomorrow but it has been a Weekend Of Adventure already for the Stines… But it is not over yet…

Which brings me to SUNDAY! GOD @ THE MOVIES – PART 2

IT IS GONNA BE AN ADVENTURE!!! as we talk about THE CONSTANT ADVENTURE!

Mr. Adventure Himself – will help us this weekend in what is my favorite God Movie-Moment of all time…

PS – Happy Thanksgiving

GOD IS AT THE MOVIES…

GOD IS AT THE MOVIES...

DO YOU LIKE THE MOVIES???

I love the movies – they make us laugh, they make us cry (ok – not all of us), they motivate us, and as we will see this week – there are some that have a tendency to reveal GOD!

DC Metro’s God @ The Movies Series starts this weekend and I am so pumped…

So each week we are going to be looking at some powerful truths that will motivate us to go to the next level in our walk with Him… So get your coke and popcorn and get ready for a morning @ the MOVIES…

This Week’s Movie – Well let’s just say that you will know what it is before we get to the message… Did I mention that movies keep us in suspense too???

Go God!

Can’t Wait…

Can't Wait...

Cannot wait to see my boys and my girl. It has been a long 10 days that I have away from home and I look very forward to getting back to my family and my DC church family…

My trip to LA has been great, but the duration away from Taryn, Isaac, and Siah is a bit long for my liking… It will serve me well to get back and just “eat em’ up” (Our way of sayin’ – “give them a bunch of kisses…”)

One that I will miss much is listed below in the photo with my mom and dad – Mary Catherine – my niece. She is growing up so fast and this past weekend, I had the honor to see her perform in her first official play “Annie.” My Little Actress in the making.

As I look forward to getting back so many things rush to my mind – my church family – church growth – the fun holidays – the incredible DC Metro Staff, etc… I am so looking forward to this exciting time of year with the church and my lil’ family too…

Bless You Guys,

Stay Expectant On God!

David

This Sunday!

This Sunday!

Hey Guys!

I’m so excited about this weekend! We’re wrapping up our Rated R series with a great message that you won’t want to miss! I have heard from some of you that this series has sparked some great conversations and thoughts about the relationships in your lives. Go God!

Have a Great Friday…

Pastor D.

“that i may see…”

I have been praying for vision for 2009, it is during this time of year that God always gives me inspiring vision for the next year… I can already see that He has some great stuff for DC Metro to lay our hands on in 2009, and beyond. Some of it seems so much bigger than I can imagine, but there is something comforting about that – afterall a God Sized vision is “always so much bigger than just us…”

Looking forward to seeing the future and witnessing God’s Dream continue to unfold at DC Metro…

Bless You and Pray for God to continue to invision us all during this season –

Lord, “that i may see…”

Looking Forward,

David

Sunday – FREEDOM!

It’s Friday! or Rater, Thank God It Is Friday! I know that this phrase is echoing through corridors, in cubicals, on the street, in cars, and well lets face it – All over town people are fired up that the weekend is upon us… It reminds me of Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made, We will rejoice and be glad in it!” Only two days till the best day of all SUNDAY!

I am very excited about this weekend as we are going to be, once again, talking about Relationships in our Rated R series. This weekend we are talking about a particularly powerful subject – FREEDOM! Lets all pray that God does something amazing in our lives as we experience new levels of freedom in our lives this weekend…

See You Sunday (Only 2 days away!!!),

Oh yeah – Happy Friday!

1st Thursday – Communion

1st Thursday - Communion

Hey guys,

What a great week it has been at DC Metro… I am hearing great things about what God is doing in your relationships through our current series, and I must say, Go God as we continue to pray for great breakthrough in each and everyone of our relationships this month.

Last weekend on Saturday I had a great chance to attend the 201 Growth Track Retreat in Shrine Mont Virginia (Cool place). It was so refreshing to see all those who were going through the class go to the next level in their relationships with God. Great job to all those who attended the 201 Spiritual Disciplines Class this semester as I can already see great growth and new hunger for God in all of your lives. If you were not in this class this semester but our interested in finding out more be sure and email our Metro Groups Director, Julie Reams at jreams@dcmetrochurch.org, for more information.

Speaking of hunger, this Thursday Night we will have COMMUNION at our 1st Thursday Service at First Christian Church of Alexandria. This should be a great night for the whole family as we will pick up in our message series and study about the Holy Spirit… Get ready for a great night as we come together and worship on tomorrow night…

Bless You,

Pastor David
