This weekend we have a special guest coming to speak at DC Metro…
He is the founder of the ARC (Association of Related Churches) Pastor Billy Hornsby.
Pastor Billy has been a great friend to DC Metro not to mention Taryn and I…
I met Pastor Billy about five or six years ago when I spoke to him about starting DC Metro Church… He has been a friend of the vision and one of the champions behind the scenes ever since - with much encouragement along the way… Not to mention the ARC supported DC Metro Church in our initial launch and with constant connections and relationships through this great network of “related churches.” In fact, this year the ARC will help start over 50 new churches throughout the country, and here is the best news, DC Metro is helping to make this happen…
We are all in for a great treat as this Pastor’s Pastor comes in to speak to us in our ENJOYING LIFE series this weekend when he will be talking about relationships with his wealth of understanding on the subject…
Look forward to seeing you all this weekend as we ENJOY LIFE Together…
Go God!

Another school year has come and almost gone, at least it has for one of our own DC Metroers who graduated on Friday…
I attended a great graduation today as, Andrew Mikilia (A member of the DC Metro Dream Team) graduated today from Edison High School with a “rowdy” but “FUN” Graduation…
The pomp and circumstance took place at Constitution Hall and had plenty of Pomp and it was held under great circumstances…
I mentioned to Andrew’s dad that “I could tell that Edison had a liberal arts focus” due to all the musical performances, and all the classic (and some new creative…) “antics” of the graduates as they passed across the stage… Even the principle was getting into it… Great fun…
His parents Adam and Sandy were so proud, as we all were, when Andrew strolled with confidence across the platform…
Andrew has made the decision to attend Liberty University (GO GOD!) and his parents and all of us could not be more pleased…
Congrats Again Andrew! We are with you man!
Go Andrew! and GO GOD!

Phil. 3:14 “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Tonite, Taryn and I will host our weekly Metro Group on Parenting…
This is a topic that we have looked forward to for some time as we will be using the award winning small group curriculum called, “Growing Kids God’s Way.”
This is a video curriculum that I have heard the absolute best feedback about…
I don’t know about you parents out there, but I sure do need some direction on how to maximize my parenting skills for my two little men (Isaac (2 years) Josiah (5 months)) - I am bias - They Rock!
I also look forward to connecting with some other parents and swap some good ideas as well as share some struggles along the way…

You ever wonder when something is a good decision or a GOD decision?
These things can be puzzling in life unless God really puts His stamp on our decisions…
I don’t know about you, but I would much rather Him make it easy on me by clearly identifying Himself in our decisions…
He always provides the right direction if we are open, check this out:
“If you want better insight and discernment… learn the importance of reverence for the Lord and of trusting Him. He shows how to distinguish right from wrong, how to find the right decision every time.” Pr. 2:5,9 (LB)
This weekend we will be talking about just that as I will be sharing a message called “Making GOoD Decisions”
Go God!
See You On Sunday…

Like many of us, my dad and I don’t get to spend too much time together any more (Him living in Louisiana and me living in DC), so this past week we headed off to do something that he and I always did together growing up, Sailing.
Since last year we had been planning a week long Sailing Trip & Sailing School, for my birthday (BIG 33!). After a great week, I am pleased to say that our “Sea-Legs” did just fine…
We had a slow start (little rusty) but it made for a great trip as we had to take written tests in order to graduate through three levels of certification with the US Sailing Association… Between classroom times, we had extensive hands-on Sailing instruction on a 45 foot sailboat that left us pretty inspired for an even bigger-trip in the future…
Who knows, maybe we will sail around the world next…
No Worries, we are not there yet…
Thanks again for a great week Pop…
Ephesians 3:20 “He can do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or even imagine.”
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who can strengthen me.”
