Another great weekend at DC Metro as we wrapped up the latest DC Metro Series iWork… If you had to miss part of the iWork Series be sure and click here to download the message notes, and to listen to the audio message online.
This weekend the church was able to pray for one of our own DC Metroers, Bill McCulley, and commission him to the mission field. Bill (a.k.a. “Wild Bill”) is headed to Kolkata, India where God has called him to serve as a missionary for the next three months, serving in the area of Mircro Finance for the people of that area. He will also be meeting up with his girlfirend, Katie Mowat who is there now serving to help stop human trafficing to and from the region with the International Justice Mission (IJM).
We love the these two awesome people, and their love for Jesus is truly inspiring (I love talking about people who are crazy about God!)
Bill we are going to miss you man - get back soon and bring Katie back with you…
Lets really pray for these two as they continue to pursue all that God has for them in India and in their future.
We are with you guys,
Pastor D.
Matthew 28:18 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Well we have come to the end of another great work week -
I hope that you have enjoyed working for God in your work this week…
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Col. 3:23
This weekend we are going to take another Look at How To Win At Work in our iWork Series.
The message this weekend will look at the life of one of my favorite guys in the Old Testament - Joshua…
He was given several difficult tasks to work on by God and we are going to look at how all along - despite the difficulty - God had a great strategy behind the scenes for Joshua’s Success, and ours…
See You Sunday!

Hey Guys,
Well, due to my great nurse (Taryn) and the Grace of God (Jesus), I think I may be getting over this virus and recovering well.
Special thanks to all those who have sent emails and prayed for us. (Susan Elliot - You Rock!)
Special thanks also to our great staff at DC Metro, as they have been firing away in the call of God on DC Metro Church without me for some three weeks now. You Guys Rock!
Looking forward to another great weekend as we end the iWork Series with a BIG BANG!
Until then, keep going strong as you wrap up the week Working for God!
Don’t forget He has you right where He wants you…
Acts 17:26 (NIV) 26From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live (and work)
Me too…
Recovering Well, Thank God!

That’s right, despite another great weekend at DC Metro, I am “Sickaroo!â€
I don’t use that word often nor lightly, but I am feeling every bit of it right now… I have been in a slowly moving downward spiral physically since probably Saturday Morning…
This may be the sickest I have been since freshman year of college (1993) when I had a huge ear infection that almost killed me (or so I thought at the time)
My sweet wife (“Tâ€) took me to our family doctor (Dr. Ware) Monday afternoon, where he confirmed what I had been feeling, He said “Son, You are really sick…†(aka Sickaroo!) He said that it was a virus that was going around (I hope you don’t have it!) and that it has to run its course in my ears, nose, and the worst yet - throat…
His prescription was even worse than the news of my illness. Some pink cocktail of three serious drugs to gargle (Looks like the stuff that would make you run and hide from your momma when she tried to give it to you as a kid.) Then he prescribed some Tylenol 3 which I was very thankful for (don’t worry my nurse always follows the recommended dosage.)
The final two prescriptions have been the worse for a guy like me: no being around other people (including my two super boys Isaac and Josiah!) and the other one was that I had to stay in BED! Help! Needless to say this is not the medicine that I wanted to hear, but Dr. Ward is for real and I know that he would never steer us wrong…
So all in all, I should recover (Ok – I will recover!) But until then, please keep me and the whole Stine family in your prayers (They need some divine protection not to get this nasty stuff…) also pray for Charity Benton too, she is actually an extension of our family (Friend/DCMetroer/Nanny/and part Stine) and is in the house enough to say a quick prayer for too… Pray a special blessing over my wife “She Rocks!â€
Never-the-less – GOD IS GOOD! And This too will pass! (Hopefully soon!)
Love You Guys,
James 5:15 “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.â€

Relationships and work, two topics that when combined can cause great conflict in our lives…
But they don’t have to…
This weekend we are going to talk about what God says about these two potentially conflicting areas in a message that I have entitled appropriately: Coping With Cranky Co-Workers.
This message should not only help us to cope with those difficult relationships at work, but also help us to prevail in all relationships in our lives…
See You Sunday,
Isnt this weather GREAT!

I am away this week in Birmingham Alabama at a Pastor’s Conference for a group called the Association of Related Churches (ARC). This is a great group of churches that has come together with the common purpose of Starting New Churches (Gets me fired-up!).
DC Metro is a part of the ARC, in fact, they are one of the organizations that helped start DC Metro. Now that we are launched - it gives me great pleasure to say that we (DC Metro Church) are going to help start churches with the ARC all over the country… In fact, this year we (DCMC) are going to help plant over 40 churches in the US like DC Metro Church!!! (Now you are fired up!)
That is right 40 churches - This Year! If each church grows to 100 people in their first year - we will be impacting over 4000 people’s lives just through this one missions relationship…
We are just getting started…
GO GOD!

I just got back from two weeks of work in my home state of Louisiana…
I go two times a year to do some pretty extensive consulting/speaking/training with a client down there… It is such a great bivocational occupation that I have done for several years that keeps me in the business world that I enjoy so much.
but,
Wheeew… Can I say? Glad to be back…
Don’t get me wrong - I love working down there, but sometimes, just like with anything that we do - if we are not careful we can experience a little BURNOUT>>>
In fact, Burnout is so common now days (no matter what you do) that I did a message on it this past weekend to talk about God’s cure for Burnout… I called it Keeping The Torch Lit.
If you are dealing with a bit of burnout, and did not get a chance to hear it last Sunday, then check it out on our podcast to the right or by clicking here to listen from our site…
Relax - it is gonna be a great week!
Go God!

We kicked off our iWork Series Last Weekend at DC Metro Church!
We all do this thing called WORK. No matter what we wake up in the morning to go and do, we can all say, “I WORK!”
This is a very practical series on how we, as Christians, can do more that just Survive at work, but how we are also called to Excel as well…
Last week’s message was entitled: “How To Win At Work” and we talked about King Solomon’s 6 Attributes of a WINNER out of Proverbs!
If you missed the message, be sure and check out our podcast by clicking on the link to the right or by clicking here to go to our website to listen online. (You can also access Sunday’s Message Notes, and Metro Group Notes as well…)
Enjoy and Get Ready for Part II on Sunday!!!
Bless You!
