Looking forward to tonite’s prayer meeting where we will be lifting up many needs for our church, our immediate church family, and extended church family (Thats you - if you live outside DCMetro.)
I am also looking forward to sharing a brief nugget as I believe that God has great things in store for us as a church as we head into Easter…
If you have any needs that you would like for us to lift up during our time of prayer on Thursday nights, just email me under the prayer request link to the right and I will be sure to bring it before the church tonite (Also, if you have a private prayer need (for my eyes only) I will be sure to honor that as well - just note it in your request…)
Finally, if you are interested in coming out to join us for First Thursday then come on out and join us from 7pm to 8:30pm (Childrens ministry provided) at First Christian Church of Alexandria located at 2723 King Street, Alexandria, VA. You can also find all of our DC Metro directions by clicking here.
GO GOD!

Paparazzi: Snapshots of a Miracle Working God
Can you imagine being present at a wedding reception where the bottles of water are all of sudden turned into the finest wine? Or imagine sitting in your friends’ living room, when suddenly four men begin to cut a hole in the roof and drop a sick man through it. The Bible paints a pretty good picture of what it must have been like to witness Jesus perform supernatural exploits. For the next four weeks, we will be taking a look at some Snapshots of a Miracle Working God as we talk about four of the many different miracles Jesus performed. Join us this Sunday, March 2nd, as Pastor David explores Jesus’ first miracle—H2O to Merlot.
Metro Groups
It is not too late to sign up for Groups! Groups are a great way to experience the incredible benefits of community and are also a wonderful opportunity to discuss how the Sunday morning message and Scripture applies to our daily lives. At DC Metro Church, we believe that transformation occurs best in the context of authentic relationships. All of our discussion based Metro Groups meet Wednesday nights from 7-9 pm at various locations around the DC Metro area. We also have a Runner’s Group, a Mom’s Group, an Elevate Group (Senior High Students), and a Starting Point Group (Discussing the Foundational Truths of Christianity) that meet throughout the week. For more information about any of the groups, visit our website, come to the Groups table after service, or contact our Metro Groups director, Juile Reams, at jreams@dcmetrochurch.org.
Men’s Breakfast
Men of the House: DC Metro’s Men’s Ministry will be kicking off with a Men’s Breakfast. If you are a man reading this right now, go ahead and make the universal noise for man, “Ugghh!” This is going to be a great event at a great venue where we will enjoy a hearty breakfast (no low-fat bagels or cottage cheese!) and encourage each other in our calling to be godly men of integrity who are leaders in our respective spheres of influence. We will be gathering March 8th at Cascade @ Landmark (300 Yoakum Parkway, Alexandria, VA) from 9:00am – 10:30am. For more information, contact the church office at 703-888-1178.
Women’s Brunch
As women one of the most important questions in life is “Who is going to be traveling with me as I do what God has called me to?” God has intentionally designed us to be very relational. Life becomes so much richer when you have other women walking beside you sharing life’s experiences and encouraging you to become who God is calling you to be. We are excited for this opportunity to eat delicious dainty food and build deeper friendships as the women of DC Metro. DC Metro Ladies mark your calendars for the Women’s Brunch on March 15th at our Guest Services Co-Director Amber Streit’s House (621 14th Street NE, Washington, DC 20002) from 11:00am – 1:00pm. For more information, contact the church office at 703-888-1178.
Past Series
We have made all of our messages available to you online. If you have missed a message from Don’t Just Live…Thrive or Simplify Your Life, we encourage you to check out our message archive. You can listen to the message and follow along with the Message Notes as well.
Note from Pastor David
Taryn and I are so excited that God is growing and expanding DC Metro Church. In the next couple of weeks, we are going to be adding a new Pre-K room in our Children’s ministry, as well as adding a new Choir on Sunday mornings to enrich our worship experience. If you are interested in getting involved in these, or any of the many different serving opportunities at DC Metro Church, please contact Summer Mobley at smobley@dcmetrochurch.org. We want to help you get plugged into all that God is doing at DC Metro especially as we head into this great - Life Filled - Easter Season!
We believe that as God continues to expand the church, He is also expanding our capacity to help more and more people get connected to: Him, His Church, and to relationships with others as we continue on the path that He has us on as a DC Metro Church Family…
Let’s trust God together for Him to do Great Things this Easter at DC Metro!

Get Ready for a Great Month,

Well we made it back today…
In a great trip down to visit Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Pastor Matt and I made it back to the city this morning from what could not have been a better trip… (Ok besides the fact that we drove - yes drove??? I don’t know if that part was stewardship or insanity - just kidding…) We were invited to attend a round table with about 20 other growing churches from around the country.
It was great to see all wonderful things that God has done at “Highlands” as they are very similar to DC Metro Church. A friend of mine, Pastor Chris Hodges, started “Highlands” in 2001 and in the last 6 years it has grown to over 8500 people attending a weekend service!!! Talk about - Go God!
The exciting this is that their beginnings have been very similar to ours at DC Metro - So only God knows all that He has in store for us at DC Metro Church! Lets just all continue to pray and expect that God is going to use DC Metro in an even greater way through out DC as we continue to “Build a God-First Culture Throughout The DC Metro Area!” Nehemiah 2:20
Looking forward to another great Sunday tomorrow as we kick off our newest series called Paparazzi: Snapshots of A Miracle Working God as we continue to believe God for Miracles in our lives and in throughout the DC Metro Area…
GO GOD!
David
Prayer Request I: Continue to pray for Josiah as he is doing a little bit better, but we are trusting God to heal our little man of infant acid reflux - so just continue to lift him up with us as trust God for Josiah’s Miracle too!
Prayer Request II: Also lift up another infant. The child of some friends of ours in Jacksonville (Josh and Becca Turner) is also in need of healing - Her name is Miranda Turner.
Lets believe God for some miracles for these little ones…
