Tailgate Party!
In one of Pastor David’s first messages, he mentioned that one of his dreams was to see people tailgating before church on Sunday morning. Well, his dream came true…sort of. This past Sunday, following the second service, DC Metro had a Tailgate Party in the neighborhood across the street from the theatre. The Tailgate Party was a huge success. There was football, piñatas, straw scarecrows, bobbing for apples, and lots of food. DC Metro looks forward to carrying on the Tailgate Tradition next year.
Good Relationships Are No Accident…
It has been said, “In order to love a God that you cannot see, you first have to love the people who you can see.”
So, for the next few weeks, we are doing just that…we are exploring how relationships are not accidents – they are completely intentional. In this series we are going to talk about the different aspects of relationships that will maximize every relationship with have – with our spouse, kids, co-workers, friends, and so many more.
The end of this series marks a major step in establishing a “God-First Culture” in the DC Metro Area. We are concluding our Relationship Series by launching Metro Groups.
Metro Groups
We are launching “Metro Groups” during the week of October 28th. We believe that God wants to mold our hearts and lives into the image of His Son, and that this type of transformation occurs best in the context of authentic life-giving relationships. We desire to see individuals come together, in these new groups, to form lasting friendships and do life together.
You will have a change to meet the group leaders and sign up for Metro Groups again this Sunday, October 28th. We have various groups that will be meeting in various locations are the DC area. Each group will be spending time fellowshipping with others and going deeper into the Sunday morning messages through discussing key points and scriptures shared in each week’s message.
We encourage everyone to sign-up for Metro Groups! Visit the Metro Groups table near the Welcome Center to sign up…We encourage you to invite your friends and neighbors to these groups as well – everyone is welcome, just as they are! Get ready because it’s going to be an exciting 8 weeks…
Starting Point
Starting Point is one group in particular that we are very excited about. Starting Point is for those who are new to a relationship with Jesus Christ and for those who want to learn more about God, Jesus, the Bible or Christianity.
Starting Point will take place on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm at First Christian Church in Alexandria. This group will be led by our Associate Pastor, Matthew Stroia & Dr. Julie Reams.
If you are interested in this group, we encourage you to sign-up at the Groups table near the Welcome Center.
A New Addition
DC Metro also celebrated the newest addition to our Family this month. Congratulations to Adam & Jillian Morrissey. Jillian just gave birth to Asher Tulley Morrissey on October 3rd, 2007 at 10:50 pm. He’s a handsome 8 pounds 3 oz, 20 and 3/4 inches long baby boy.
