Another great weekend in the stine home… To cover last friday night’s “Vision Night @ Regent University” let me give a quick recap.
Friday: We had a hugly successful night with our Launch Team and all of the wonderful new friends that were invited. The facility was wonderful as our thanks goes strongly out to Regent University and Mrs. Cheryl Gould who allowed us to have the evening in their solarium (Thanks Cheryl!) We had tons of people show up as well as many children (We love our DC Metro Kids!) The night went only two hours, but with all the prayer that went into the evening it felt like it took a whole week. Being right in the middle of our “21 Days of Prayer and Fasting” we believe that it was God who gave us success. Taryn and I believe strongly in Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house then the laborers labor in vain.”
As far as our launch team, I am pleased to say that God has added to our numbers daily those who were added to our team. We now have a total of 65 people on the team! Go God!
Also, we got into the Alexandria Gazette Newspaper from our Friendship Firehouse Festival Outreach! The photo and information announced our service times as well as our location and our first Sunday, September 9th!!!
Other than that I do want to ask everyone for additional prayer as this process has not been without attacks… We had kind-of a scare on Saturday Morning (Right after our successful Vision Night.) Saturday morning as Taryn was walking downstairs before Isaac and I woke up, she slipped on one of the steps and fell on the stairs! Ouch! It sent me flying out of the bed only to find my wife lying on the stairs with blood all over her!!! (Needless to say this scared the heck out of her, me, and Isaac… It appears that she fell on the stairs and hit her fore arm so hard that it spilt her arm open. After we calmed down for a minute, we called Juile Reams (Thanks Julie!) to come and get Isaac, and Taryn and I headed out for the emergency room… We did pray that no-one would be waiting ahead of us and of course there was not one person ahead of us, and the Doc stiched her up (Six Stiches!) and Taryn is as good as new! (Don’t Worry, they were not worried about the baby at all, Thank God!) So needless to say, it was a wild morning but God allowed us to have a positive attitude through the whole thing as it was clear that He was with with us protecting her! Thanks God!
So not to end on that, but to ask for prayer as we have had this and many other little things that have tried to get us down, but we keep staying very encouraged as we know that God is doing Great things in our midst…
I don’t know what kind of situation you are in right now, but keep Him lifted high and He will keep you! 1 Peter 1:6-7
Love you Guys,
David
