Taking a Moment…

Taking a Moment...

Taking a moment to reflect on the weekend, and to catch my thoughts before another great week of preparing to launch DCMetroChurch.

About the weekend, we had another great weekend at church as we discussed our latest series, “Miracles.”  This week we learned that: “When we are obedient to God, we position ourselves for God’s Miracle.”  Powerful, and with that said, I believe that the DCMetro Launch Team is positioned for miracles…

Just to catch you up on our progress, Future Home of DCMetroChurch

  • We Got The Building!!!  We are excited to say that we have just finalized the approval process for getting the Regal Theater in Alexandria (Crystal City) Virginia.  It is called Potomac Yard Regal 16, and we plan on using it for the purposes of God in that wonderful community…  Amen…
  • About House: We have not found a house, but we have homes!  We will be living with our wonderful friends, The Stroias, in Northern Virginia, as well as other friends and family along the way…
  • The Way > We are going to be doing some traveling in the month of May, and will be in Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, Virginia, and Florida for various committments including churches, family, a birthday party and even a wedding!
  • Our last Sunday at Celebration will be next Sunday as we will also have an Information Meeting after second service at the Deerwood Campus for DCMetroChurch…  Check us out if you are in town…
  • This week, Taryn and I are headed to Austin, Tx.  We will be attending the National Conference for the ARC.  This should be a great week and conference as we are looking forward to connecting with new friends as well as gleaning some new nuggets for launching in DC…

ARC Conference

Stay tuned for more info as we will be in touch this week with more…

Have a great week,

 D

Hello! I was recently contaced by my brother (Kevin Lloyd) whom you met at the ARC meeting in Atlanta. He is preparing to launch a new church in Decatur, AL and met you in the course of the evaluation. He expressed to me how impressed he was with you and your vision for the DC metro area. I am currently serving in the Air Force and stationed here in DC. I live about 15 minutes from the Regal Potomac Yards shopping center in Alexandria and let me tell you, its a GREAT spot! Anyway, I wanted to contact you and let you know that I was interested in paying Metro a visit once you get here and get things set up. Also, if you need any help with anything (ie: recon) please let me know. I moved here from Florida as well, and had a little cultere shock at first, but it wears off. The people, the traffic, the expense, its all much different that the south. But, this is an exciting place and very fertile ground for a church that fresh and exciting. I cant wait to see what God has in store for Metro ChurchDC! Please let me know if you need anything. I hope your move goes great. God Bless.
