I wanted to make a quick post to give everyone some current updates on DCmetrochurch as well as some prayer points moving forward… Here Goes:
Updates:
- We have a total of 9 confimed people on the official launch team, (6 adults, and 1 toddler, and 2 infants thank God for kids!) Names to be announced soon…
- We have a great website being developed right now by one of Taryn and I’s favorite people: Alex Tran, (a.k.a. AirTran)
- Developmental Graphics and branding is currently being done on several different projects by another one of our favorite people: Carrie Lantry… (Go Carrie!)
- We have started initial facility conversations with Regent University, where we hope to have our “Pre-Launch Services” on Sunday Nights in August 2007. (These are going to be our launch team meetings for initial Dream Team of DCmetrochurch, they are going to be fun services.)
- I, David, will be taking a trip to DC from February 18- 23 to: Meet with Alexandria Public School System’s Director of Facilities to settle on a facility for “Official Launch Services” in January 2008! Go God!
- Pastor Stovall and I will be heading to the ARC “CPR-Church Planters Roundtable” Conference at the end of February to get the latest scoop from the church planting master, Chris Hodges of Church of the Highlands in Birmingham.
Prayer Points: (Please Pray for Us!)
- Favor and connections with ministry leaders in the DC metro area.
- Favor with Regent University to use their King Street Metro Campus, Auditorium for our “Pre-Launch Services” starting in August.
- The people of Alexandria Virginia, DC, Arlington, and all of Fairfax County who will make DCmetrochurch their new home…
- Favor with the Alexandria Public School System Facility Director, for us to have access to start our “official launch services” in january in TC Williams High School (Remember the Titans) which is on King Street. (this would be amazing, because of all that TC Williams represents regarding race and our heart to see a truly “multicultural” church in the DC Area.
Keep the Stines in prayer as well (David, Taryn, and Isaac) as we make this major transition into something that God has put into our hearts so many years ago. We are very excited about what God is doing in our family, our launch team and with DCmetrochurch.
More Updates to Come Soon…
David
